Hotham Valley Railway's own "Hogwarts Express"

Hotham Valley Railway's PM706 turns red

In an effort to inject some much needed interest into an otherwise dwindling W.A. railtour market, Hotham Valley Railway have decided to tap into the success of Harry Potter by painting PM706 Narrogin into an all over red livery. In the Harry Potter books a red steam locomotives hauls the "Hogwarts Express" and in the recent Harry Potter movie, Great Western 'Hall' class No.5972 Olton Hall was transformed into a red/maroon livery to haul the now famous "Hogwarts Express". Hotham Valley will run a series of trains this steam season called the "Wizards Expesss", with PM706. It is not known what destinations these trips will run to, although Northam or Toodyay are likely candidates. It is unlikely that any of HVR's South African coaches will be painted in red and cream livery to match the PM or a platform at City station renumbered to 9 3/4.
